Mrs. Odilia Chanya Talieh nee Acha-Morfaw, popularly known as "Aunti Odi and also Miaga" was born on May 4th 1963 in Bamenda to Roseline Meinkeng Njifua and Stephen Achankeng Morfaw. She attended Saint Anthony Primary school in Buea road Kumba and Queen of the Rosary Secondary School (QRSS) Okoyong Mamfe and Cameroon College of Arts Science and Techmology Kumba (CCAST) in Cameroon before deciding to travel to the United States of America in 1985 for further studies.
While in the United States, she attended Howard University in Washington DC, where she graduated with a B.Sc. in Pharmacy in 1990. She got married to Mr. John Talieh with whom she bore three very lovely and beautiful children namely: Acheanyi Talieh 15, Achankeng Talieh 13 and Abeanju Talieh 11.
She became ill with breast cancer in 2002 and fought back. Then again in 2006 she was attacked again with a different kind of cancer. This time it was lung cancer and she bought a different kind of bullet and also fought back and won. In 2009 she had her third attack and this time it was brain cancer. She went and got a different kind of bullet and also fought back and won again. In autumn of 2011 she had her fourth attack and this time it was the brain cancer again that she had defeated two years prior. This time she did not buy anymore bullets and decided to use the excess bullet she had left over in 2009. After fighting very hard to regain her health, she was finally overcome by the brain cancer when she ran out of bullets. She lost her battle on the 10th of February 2012 at age 48 in her Mansion in Gaithersburg Maryland USA.
Odilia actually lived up to her name. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and above all, a very compassionate and peaceful person. She was a caring and fun person to be around. If she considered you a friend, she gave you her all; even the last avon on her back. She was very hard working and a source of hope and inspiration to many. She carried herself with gentle kindness and went out of her way to help many. She really loved helping people even when it was not in her benefit. She was a perfect example of how to be selfless.
She leaves behind her husband, three children, siblings, in-laws, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She will ever be a light and example to us.
She will rest peacefully till time.
